"Roman Roads"
Roman Roads is the specialized service Geo Dunamis provides to to Christian churches and related organizations, businesses, and researchers. Work conducted under this banner entails everything from routine map-making, to creation and management of geospatial data, an analysis and graphic representation of geospatial data.

Overview of Roman Roads
Geo Dunamis provides specialized geospatial services for Christian churches and related organizations and researchers as a niche market. Christian organizations of all shapes and sizes have been historically poor at effectively implementing new technologies such as geospatial information systems (GIS). This is partly due to their own lack of knowledge or interest, so part of our strategy is educating Christian organizations as to the benefits of integrating GIS into their operation.
The overall philosophy behind focusing on serving Christian organizations is that they are under served in terms of services specific to their unique needs. Churches and related ministries need to understand the world they they serve and GIS can enhance a ministry's mission and resource utilization.
Services to this niche market are called Roman Roads, hearkening back to the ancient network of roads built by the Roman Empire. It was the network of Roman roads during that time that that changed the world by ensuring people were connected in a way that had never happened before. It was this connectivity that allowed Christianity to spread throughout the known world. Today we look to technology to provide worldwide connectivity. By harnessing the power of GIS as our own technological Roman road we can continue to reach the whole world.
Why does your church or ministry need GIS?
Geographic (or geospatial) information systems, often referred to simply as GIS, allows us to analyze all kinds of information in ways that help us see connections to people, communities, infrastructure, and the environment. Being able to analyze demographic data and community information is kind of like giving a church or organization a superpower that allows them to see characteristics that may not otherwise be apparent. The following is just a mere sampling of how information can be mapped and analyzed in support of any organization:
-
Drive time analysis
-
Determination of service area
-
Understanding community language barriers
-
Identifying pockets of need, including:
-
Poverty
-
Lack of education
-
Drug use
-
Single parent households
-
Elderly population
-
-
Facility use analysis
-
Campus mapping
-
You are here maps
-
Parking space allocations
-
Zoning
-
Flood maps
-
-
Saturation of similar organizations in an area
-
Local demographics
-
Age
-
Education level
-
School age children
-
Income levels
-
-
Tracking community outreach efforts
-
Missions story maps

These are just a few examples. Maybe you're a Christian historian or biologist or geologist conducting research and want to map your data. Maybe your ministry has a specific data point that you want to begin recording and tracking. Whatever the case, contact us today and see if we have something to meet your needs and bring your ideas to life!

What you get.
When you work with Geo Dunamis you determine the kind and extent of the services you wish to receive. Perhaps you want a very detailed comprehensive analysis of your church's place in the community, complete with various demographic indicators. We can do that.
Or, perhaps you only need one product, such as a campus map or drive time analysis or a membership connections map. We will happily work with you to provide these kinds of more limited services.
Or, perhaps you wish to set up a dashboard that you can use to track a community outreach program or an online story map your organization can use to track a missions team. These too are readily available possibilities.
Or, maybe you are exploring a new church plant and are looking for a location in which there are few or no other churches.
Geo Dunamis can provide all these kinds of services and more! We begin by meeting with you either in person or virtually or both to have a conversation that will help us understand your goals and desires. Then we will establish a simple map and geodatabase to which we can add information and with which we can analyze data. The next step is data gathering. Some information will come from you, some will be researched from sources such as the US Census Bureau and county government sites, and some may be gathered in the field. Based on your needs and the types of services you request we will provide web access to your products: written reports, maps, spreadsheets, a web-based dashboard, etc. Finally, we leave the door open to continue to provide you services.
Contact us today to discuss how we might serve your church, ministry, mission, or project.
